Peugeot 1932 : 301

Peugeot 1932 : 301

Derived from the 201, of which it is a larger version, the 301 was powered by a 1.5 litre four-cylinder engine developing 34 hp (90 km/h). Although, like the 201 Confort, it was fitted with independent front suspension, it also had a bloctube chassis. It distinguished itself at the Miramas autodrome, where it broke the 24 hour international record with an average of 110,417 km. An aerodynamic body with lengthened rear section appeared in 1934, before the 301 received at the end of the year, like all Peugeots the new body style with a “beavertail” type rear section. The 302 succeeded this model at the 1936 Paris Motorshow. It did not disappear altogether however, as it continued to be made under the designation 201 M.
