Peugeot 1927 : 12 CV SIX Type 183
Towards the end of the 1920's conditions were favourable to release six cylinder engines (Renault Monasix and Citroën C6), Peugeot returned to this type of engine at the 1927 Paris Motorshow. Peugeot presented two models, the 12 CV SIX and Type 184 with valveless engine. The 12 SIX Type 183 was first powered by a side-valve 2 litre engine developing 38 hp, before increasing to 42 hp, then 47 hp. Despite its elegance, comfort and an engine noted for its flexibility, its career saw mixed results and 12,636 of this model were built up until 1931.
